How community radio has added to building tranquility: a Kenyan situation study
Kenya has witnessed post-election physical violence in differing levels since the return of multiparty national politics in 1992. The most awful remained in 2008. Ever since the nation has had 2 objected to and deeply divisive political elections (in 2013 and 2017). In the 2007/2008 post political election physical violence, reporters and the media were partially criticized for splitting the nation along ethnic lines. The traditional media, particularly, were implicated of biased coverage and for framing problems with implied or specific ethnic overtones. Some vernacular radio terminals were also implicated of fanning the physical violence by broadcasting dislike speech. But there is been little concentrate on an alternative role that community radio has played in the post-conflict duration.
